Minister Dith Tina Presides Over Closing Ceremony of KOPIA in Cambodia and Annual Meeting of K-Agro
Phnom Penh: On the evening of December 17, 2024, Mr. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, presided over the closing ceremony of the Korea International Agricultural Center (KOPIA) in Cambodia, alongside the annual meeting of the Korea Agro-Industry Association (K-Agro), held at the Oakwood Premier Hotel.
In his remarks, Minister Dith Tina expressed his pleasure and honor to participate in the event, highlighting the strengthening of Cambodia-Korea cooperation in agricultural development. He commended the leadership of Dr. Song Yong Ju and previous presidents for their significant contributions to enhancing collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
The Minister acknowledged that over the past 15 years since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the partnership has proven highly effective, resulting in the successful implementation of 17 joint projects focused on improving farmers’ technical skills within the agricultural sector.
During the ceremony, Minister Dith Tina emphasized Cambodia's abundant potential in agricultural products, including rice, mango, cashew, and cassava, which are known for their quality and flavor. He called for increased investment in processing and packaging these products to facilitate their export to international markets, thereby enhancing value for investors and benefiting local communities.
Minister Dith Tina expressed gratitude to the Government, the Rural Development Administration, and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, acknowledging their support in fostering Cambodia-Korea cooperation and their crucial role in research, development, and technological sharing in Cambodian agriculture. He reaffirmed the Ministry of Agriculture's commitment to pursuing further collaboration with the Republic of Korea and K-Agro in developing new projects to improve the effectiveness and success of agricultural investments.
In conclusion, the Minister voiced his strong hope for continued strengthening of this cooperation to yield fruitful outcomes and wished for the success and happiness of all those involved under the auspices of peace.
